 "The 40-foot container from WMP containing 1,355,190 Scripture booklets, 141,300 French and Kreyol Bible studies, and 480 Kreyol New Testaments has been released. We have all 1,496,970 pieces of literature in our possession. We have spent 6 months trying to get it through customs. The red tape seemed to change every day. Was it worth the cost? What price would you put on reaching one individual for Christ? I received a report from one of our programs in the south that we have had 10 professions of faith recently and it is all because of the booklets. Together we are producing fruit for the Kingdom!" - Jim O.

 “With all the unrest in Haiti, it is incredible that the children continue to make their way to the program each week. This month, the children are being taught using a Bible study on the book of Matthew from World Missionary Press. The teachers continue to encourage the children to put their faith and trust in Jesus, ensuring that their eternal life is guaranteed even as the world around them is falling apart. Just as the rice and beans nourish their bodies, God’s Word nourishes their souls. Please pray for the safety of the children and the staff as they travel to the program sites and back home and please keep the people of Haiti in your prayers, that the Lord’s peace will prevail in that dark land.” - Jim O., Haiti  The situation in Haiti can best be described as chaotic. A WMP distributor working in Haiti began their report thus: “To say that 2021 was a difficult year is an understatement; the year began with the entire country of Haiti in a state of unrest and things only got worse. We had a presidential assassination, multiple kidnappings, fuel shortages, out of control gang activity, plus 2 earthquakes and a hurricane; and yet through it all God still reigns.” --J.O. Yes, God is still seeking the people of Haiti, sending His message through His messengers. For more than 30 years Pastor Thony P. has been serving faithfully in Cap Haitian, northern Haiti, including WMP Scripture booklets in his various ministry opportunities. In recent months, WMP has shipped more than three million Scripture booklets, Bible studies, and Kreyol New Testaments to Haiti. Another shipment awaits delivery as calls for Scriptures continue—as Haiti is in crisis with the assassination of their president in July and another major earthquake in August. A WMP distributor tells of a witch doctor in a village where past attempts to establish a fellowship of Christians had failed. As they moved into the area to start a church, the witch doctor’s wife started attending. She soon responded to the salvation message, followed by his daughter, then the son-in-law. Each time, the witch doctor would get angry. When the team saw wells not working, they chose to repair the well beside the witch doctor’s house! The witch doctor thanked God and publicly acknowledged God’s goodness! The team is praying that God will save him soon and also remove voodoo from the village. “When God comes into an area, evil has to flee.”  These are my two friends who are former witch doctors. Nelson is on the left. He was one of the most powerful witch doctors in all of Haiti. The gentleman on the right is Pastor Dabou. He has a supernatural gift. He can ONLY read the Bible! If he tries to read anything else, he simply can’t do it. He received a second grade education, but is now a Pastor! Both of them are well known throughout Haiti and they go out and evangelize as much as possible. They will be very grateful to have Scripture booklets to distribute. Thanks so much for getting these Scripture booklets to me for this upcoming trip! -Amanda P., Haiti “I have been using Help From Above for about 30 years on optometric mission trips. I first saw this booklet when I went to Haiti with Haiti Medical Teams (from Yakima, Washington) in 1987. I have done an annual out-of-country eye-care trip since 1990. The most common problem that we find when doing eye clinics is presbyopia, which means ‘old vision’ and is when people lose the ability to focus in on reading and other near-point tasks. When we give a patient a pair of glasses that allow them to see to read again, probably after a time of not being able to, the next logical step is to give them some printed material on which to try out their new eye wear. Help From Above is perfect in that it is Scripture verses only, without any editorial comment. I just returned from an optometric mission in Lima, Peru and in Puerto Cortes, Honduras. In Peru, I met a woman who does prison ministry to women, and I showed her how to prescribe reading glasses. I plan to send her a supply of various-powered reading glasses and some Help From Above booklets to give out with them. Please send me a standard-size box of Help From Above in Spanish. Imagine the ripple effect of Jesus' Love, as the people of Haiti grow in their knowledge of Christ and their truest identity in Him! The looks on their faces, as they had just received their very own WMP Haitian Kreyol New Testaments and Scripture booklets, are priceless!
