WMP Partners Interview
Don and Ellen F.
East Coast USA and Beyond
Volunteers are at the very heart of World Missionary Press, helping keep costs low at our production facility in Indiana. Volunteer national coordinators and major distributors in more than 80 countries receive and process large shipments of Scripture booklets for churches and ministries in their nations. Volunteers all over the world take the booklets into villages, cities, mountains, and deserts. WMP is blessed to have these shoulders to help carry the load of fulfilling the vision to give God’s Word to the world.
WMP: Don, please describe your background and current ministry.
Don: Ellen and I are retired business owners, celebrating 53 years of marriage. We dedicated our lives to serving the Lord in 1974. After retiring, and in full-time ministry since 2009, we share the good news on the streets and highways along the US East Coast from Florida to Maine, where there are more than 100 million people of all nations. We are also large-volume distributors of gospel materials to businesses, churches, and organizations.
WMP: How did your association with WMP begin?
Don: Our introduction to World Missionary Press was through a direct intervention from God. Early in the ministry, we purchased a case of Spanish New Testaments from another source. With all the other expenses at the time, a decision was made one night to no longer provide Spanish. The very next morning, a man drove up to our ministry vehicle and asked if we could use 1,000 Spanish New Testaments! These originally came from WMP, and a new connection was made.
Our purpose is to educate, encourage, and energize the body of Christ and those now seeking God, to help make disciples of all nations. World Missionary Press prints the exact type of products we need for this type of ministry. Our first motive in ministry is to reach out with the compassion and love of Christ. The topical Scripture booklets accomplish exactly that without condemnation.
WMP: How has WMP literature helped churches and ministries reach their communities and beyond?
Don: The Bible study books and Scripture booklets can be used by churches and ministries for outreach. Making connections with missionaries is a priority, as many cannot get material in the languages they need for their countries. In every church we visit, we put out a table at service times with all of the products for the members there. This gives them the opportunity to have good free materials for their own use and personal outreach.
The US East Coast is our launching point from which to reach the world. The I-95 corridor connects with hundreds of exits, with crowds of people traveling the interstate. The time to spread the gospel is now, and only through Christ is real life found. We have materials in stock in many languages, and more readily available thanks to WMP. This has also enabled us to reach into some 30 countries. The adventure begins all over again every day, as Florida is one of the greatest mission fields in the world.
WMP: How do you reach into other nations?
Don: As an example, in the Florida Keys early this year, we discovered a need through the church that had sent us out in ministry eleven years ago. Two boats were being loaded with needed equipment and supplies for the northern Bahama Islands devastated by the hurricane last year. Cases of WMP material (25 boxes in four languages) were put on board. After spending three weeks restocking locations throughout the Upper Keys, we traveled on to Key West. Outreach from our church partner there and throughout the city continues to grow. New connections with pastors and businesses were made. Boxes of booklets go out from here to the Bahamas, Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Cuba.
WMP: How do the Scripture booklets work in conjunction with other material to reach hearts?
Don: The new booklet Who Do You Say That I Am? has been perfect to put with the Jesus film DVDs. Watch the film and then read in depth who Jesus is to establish a solid foundation. Ellen and I firmly believe in establishing converts in the Word of God to become lasting disciples of Christ. The materials do exactly that.
We would like to thank WMP for supplying quality products in many languages since the beginning of this ministry. The connection with WMP was made by the Holy Spirit and is an amazing story in itself. We have found many new locations, and the volume of booklets going out is ever increasing. We see limitless potential for further distribution of the gospel.
Yuri Ilnitski and his team distributed over 1000 “Help from Above “ booklets in English and Spanish at this year's Fall Festival in Duluth, Georgia! Community Festivals afford us so many great opportunities to share the Love of Jesus! It's wonderful for people to encounter Jesus in the Scriptures after they have encountered the Christ in YOU!
"I have almost completed my journey along the East Coast, passing out the first order of 5,000 booklets that you sent me. I have returned home to rest and reload for the second portion of my evangelism trip, but I'm almost out of Scripture booklets. My friends and family are praying for your ministry. This specific booklet (The Way to God) is perfect to minister to every walk of life. I will complete my journey by hitting New York City, New England, and Eastern Canada with the Scripture booklets you send me. I will also be recording everything with Go Pro cameras. When it's over, I'm going to edit a video and put it on YouTube. I will make sure to mention your ministry and how people can donate as the Lord leads. Thank you so much! May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you."

“I have an evangelistic ministry in New York City to cab drivers from around the world. Plus, our church in Flushing, Queens, NYC is having a health and career fair in October and asked me to get some Scripture booklets for that event. Therefore, I will be ordering some for the church outreach event and some to replenish my stock for my evangelistic ministry. I have been using your booklets in NYC for more than ten years now. Thank you very much for your ministry. These days I do more meaningful distribution so I need fewer booklets. The cab drivers always love to see something in their language. Since I was a missionary in Pakistan for fourteen years, I prefer to concentrate on the Indian languages but God sends me people who speak many different languages in NYC. Blessings and thanks.” -John C., U.S.A.

“We are an evangelism ministry located on the boardwalk in Wildwood, (the Jersey shore), with a full-time summer staff of 30. We’ve been developing a ministry to dozens of Muslim internationals from Egypt who work on the boardwalk. We hold a weekly dinner for them throughout the summer, which has provided a context for developing a friendship and sharing the gospel. We will be giving these booklets to them. I learned about WMP from a friend who sent me a booklet and recommended you as a resource for our outreach to the Muslims in Wildwood.” -Christopher B., New Jersey
“I thought I would write and let you know what happened to two booklets (The Way to God). I’m 63 years old, and my legs are very bad but here goes: • Booklet #1: I was stopped at a red light on a two-lane highway in my new truck . . . when I noticed a man in white work clothes walking toward me. . . . Usually I would have refused to open the window. However, the Holy Spirit let me know right away not to fear this guy, so I lowered the glass. The man simply said, ‘Here.’ Then he handed me a handful of booklets. I’m used to the Holy Spirit using me and others in various ways, so I started to pray right away and the Holy Spirit said to give them away. . . . I went directly to McDonald’s restaurant and talked to the first young man I saw and told him the whole story about how I got the booklets. Then I asked if he wanted to read one, and he said yes. I gave him one and asked him to read the booklet and do exactly what it said. He did. and a couple of days later he came to the Lord for salvation. He said to me that if I did not mind, he would give the booklet to his grandmother, who was dying of cancer, because she was looking for God and did not know how to find Him. She, too, came to the Lord for salvation (through the booklet). • Booklet #2: Several days later I was at the mailbox getting my mail, when suddenly the Holy Spirit simply said, ‘Put one in the mailbox.’ Of course I knew that the Holy Spirit did not mean to put the booklet into the mail box, so I simply placed it on the flag. Well, here is the background about this true story. The mailbox I chose to put the booklet on (the Holy Spirit clearly let me know which one) was my neighbor’s—my worst enemy for the six years that I’ve lived here. He hated the fact that I placed the Ten Commandments on my garage door and in front of my home. I also have a Jesus sign in the front and rear of my yard. My neighbor demanded that I remove the Ten Commandments, but I refused. He cursed me out big time and told me never to step into his yard ever again. I did as he requested, for six years. Well, on Labor Day this year, two weeks after leaving the booklet, I was on my way to pick up my wife from work when I suddenly noticed my neighbor motioning for me to stop my truck and walking toward me. I said to myself, ‘Well, here we go again.’ My neighbor walked up to me and said ‘I wanna apologize to you for the way I’ve treated you all these years.’ Then he did something that made me realize the booklet had worked. He said, ‘Thank you, because I found God,’ and began to cry, hard. He then said, ‘I gotta go!’ I understood! . . . Wow! It’s good to have peace once again, and now my neighbor and I are good friends. He goes out of his way to show kindness towards me. I give God the glory and honor and praise! “Only God knows the effect of all the other [booklets] I’ve given away. I do not have much money, but I would like a few more booklets. The booklet says ‘free’ on them. See what you can do for me. If you cannot help me, that’s okay too. I understand.” -David C., USA
“I am 27 years old and I am in prison for the first time in my life. I am serving a 5 ½ year sentence in this prison. I am a new-born child of Jesus Christ. I gave my life to our Lord Jesus Christ a few days ago. I am very happy about the decision I made. It is because of you that I was able to make that decision and give my life to Christ. I want to thank you so much for that. A few weeks ago, my cellmate who went home, left me one of your Scripture booklets, called Help From Above. It’s in that same booklet that I found your contact. Not only did this booklet save my life but it also taught me about being faithful, loving, and caring to the ones I love. So, today in this letter, I want to ask if you can send me some more different booklets, please? I also wanted to ask you for help, the type of help that will help me keep doing God’s work and keep building my relationship with Christ, family, friends, and loved ones. I am eager not only to learn but to live a faithful, merciful, loving, courageous, and joyful life for God and the people around me. So, I want to ask if you can please send me any type of free resources that you might have or can offer to me that will help me keep my relationship with God and my family and friends and people I come across through my days of living. So, I wanted to see if you can please send me (that is, if you have 14) free Bible lessons, life-changing booklets, Bible studies, sermons, literature, correspondence courses, even daily devotions of any kind, please. I would also like to ask if you will send me more of your Scripture booklets other than the one I have. Please keep me in your prayers and keep in contact with me. Thank you for receiving and reading my letter. I send you, and your family, my blessings. I hope that God continues to keep blessing you guys. Thanks and God bless.” -Maximino M., Jessup, MD (U.S.A.)
“I’m an inmate at the Marshall County Jail. Every Sunday a pastor comes to the jail and goes cell-by-cell in our block and hands out little booklets or guides or other forms of study material. Recently, I was given a copy of your Bible Study on Romans. This letter is my only way of saying thank you. The things I’ve learned from that study alone have opened my eyes and my heart in a way I didn’t think possible. Don’t ever think that the work you’re doing isn’t enough or wonder if you’re reaching anybody. I’m going to be behind bars for the next few years and even though it’s an unknown thing to me, I pray that when I get out, I can help you in some way to help reach others. If I had any other way to thank you, I would. Keep up all the good work that helps many just like me.” -Anthony B., Indiana, USA
