We went on 21 missions in 6 counties impacting 59 villages and towns in 2 countries, Liberia and Ivory Coast. A mission can last 1-7 days. We did 2 three day conferences. Our projector was used 3 times showing the Jesus film and other Christian training films. We baptized 42 people. Many had the Gospel presented to them and many made confessions of faith asking our Lord for salvation and forgiveness. We printed 9,000 pages of Bible training material. We made 491 manuals.
We had 41 students in our level 1 class and several that listen in. They came from 9 counties which represent over 1/2 of the 16 Liberian counties. We also had students from three countries; Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and Liberia. The students have returned to spread the Gospel as they were taught. Except for Nigeria, we will also be sending our field leaders to them throughout the year to assist them in producing fruit, to encourage, provide material, and continue to train.
Exciting news! One of our students comes from an unreached people group of Liberia and is a former Muslim. He comes from the Vai tribe. Joshua Project considers the Vai to be an unreached people group. They are a Muslim mixed with animism stronghold. He is from Grand Capemont County, a county we have never sent a disciple to. He is determined to go back to them and share the gospel!! He and I have agreed that he should stay on our base for at least a month to attend level 4. While here for the month we will continue to train and prepare him. We plan on sending a mission team with him when he returns.
Some of these Bible Institute students were unknown to us having been brought by our Lord. But most all of these students have come because our field leaders on motorbikes have made an impact on them while visiting their communities. We have been to 13 of the 16 counties evangelizing, discipling and working towards church plants.
Our press shop wall structure should be complete this week.
As I type this report our dental team is preparing to pull their first tooth. Exciting!!! Bad teeth bring much pain and even death. This is a huge blessing for the SE of Liberia where hundreds of thousands have had no access to a dentist.
Prayer requests: We praise God for an anointed Level 1 class. Pray for our Bible Institute Level 4 class that starts on February 20th, each class lasts 2 weeks. Praise God our dental clinic is in operation. Pray that we can start distributing our water filters. Surely I broke a toe (no X-ray equipment) in a motorbike mishap. Pray for healing.
“At the ‘Jesus to the Nations’ conference March 2014 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, a representative from your organization asked if we (Dawn for Asia) could use Biblical literature for our work in Myanmar. Subsequently, I received five packages containing Scripture booklets in Burmese. Those booklets have been distributed in Yangon and Kalay. The pastors there were thrilled to get the material and are using God's Word that you provided to reach Buddhists in their communities. On Christmas Day, one pastor preached on John 3:16 to a crowd of 500 people. He reported that 28 Buddhists made a profession of faith in Christ Jesus. He told me that more [people] made a commitment but were nervous about making it public, as Christians are still persecuted in Myanmar for their faith. On behalf of the Dawn for Asia Board and the three pastors in Myanmar who received the material, thank you for your help in providing God's Word to the people of Myanmar.” -James C., Myanmar
“I am a member of Courtside Ministries, a Christian evangelical ministry. We have prayer tables outside courthouses, and we ask as people pass by if they would like to pray. It is a very effective ministry. We have 23 teams now at various courthouses and last year God touched tens of thousands of lives through this ministry. Over 3,900 came to know Christ, and we gave out more tracts and Bibles than we can count. We also give out church referrals and have pastors do follow up on those who accept the Lord on site. It is an amazing ministry. I have been studying Islam (as best I can in the time I have) and am being led to get prepared. Based on how the Lord has worked in my life up to now, that makes me certain I will be in contact with some Islamic believers soon. I would like to have a few of your booklets. I will keep four in Arabic and one in English and pass three in Arabic and one in English to two other teams. If our board feels it is not wasting your resources, I will probably come back and get more.”

"I had seen other inmates with the Scripture-text Datebook and rebelled [against] it as religious psycho-babble propaganda. I was made to go to church as a youth, by parents who were non-attenders themselves. I had become disheartened with church and spent all of these years (42), feeling I could handle everything life threw at me. In January of this year, I was given a Datebook by my cellmate. Instead of rejecting it, and him interpreting it as my rejecting his kindness, I put on a show of reading it. I eventually used it to write down daily plans and deeds. I then started reading the daily Scriptures, and His light opened my eyes. My heart felt a great burden lifted as I opened it and my brain to His righteousness. I cannot do this time or my life alone. I need Him!" ~Geoffrey F.
Report of phone call: “Maria called exuding joy and excitement. She was talking so fast to try to share the few stories she relayed! She says one of her favorite places to witness is aboard cruise ships. She meets so many people from all over the world. She says she gets more joy out of talking to people about Jesus than the actual cruise itself! That’s the main reason she goes on cruises! On one of her port stops, Maria visited a jewelry shop and asked if anyone needed prayer. The owner said her leg was hurting and she couldn’t move it. She prayed, and the woman said it still hurt and she still couldn’t move it very well. Maria said, ‘Well, that’s not good enough! Let’s pray again.’ The leg was healed! She could move it! While praying for this woman, six more people were lined up to be prayed for. The owner then brought a man with a tumor in his mouth, and they saw it shrink! Maria called asking for booklets. She said, ‘I saw so many things happen and had run out of booklets! I need booklets! People get saved and healed, and I like to leave them with material to help them know God and grow.’ She told of another lady who was practicing witchcraft. She led her to Jesus and then some of her family members. Maria is excited about Jesus and couldn’t stop talking about Him! She thanked us for all that we do and is so grateful for our materials. She loves sharing with others about WMP. She even told a Christian newspaper in her area about WMP!”
“In São Miguel Paulista, the biggest district in São Paulo, a family lives with eight people—parents and six children (four girls and two boys). It was a terrible hell—fights and arguments day and night between husband and wife, parents and children and brothers. One of the daughters, Solange, was feeling too anguished, and seeing her family in trouble, went looking for a place to get peace to go on surviving. She [looked in] different churches, dangerous places, and spiritualism but found nothing. One Sunday all the family left the house, each one in a different direction, and this young [woman] was alone when a group of religious brothers gave her the booklets O Caminho para Deus (The Way to God) and Como Conhecer a Deus (How to Know God). This girl read it during all the week. On Sunday she went to the church and accepted Jesus as the Savior of her soul. She was born again for Jesus’ glory. A few months after her testimony, her parents did the same and in a short period of time her sisters [also were born again]. Only the guys did not yet. It is a big reward of God for our dedication to evangelical work. It has been possible through much cooperation and the literature, which is so wonderful.” ~Clovis, N., Brazil
