Why Scripture Booklets Are Often Better Evangelism Tools Than Bibles...

I must preface this blog entry by stating in no uncertain terms that I Love God's Word and have been an avid student of the Bible since accepting Jesus; and throughout my 25+ years as an ordained minister.  I greatly appreciate my formal theological training, along with many years of ongoing, personal study.  There has never been, and never will be, a greater book than the Bible.  It is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God...PERIOD.

As believers, we know that the Old Testament is the New Testament concealed and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed; with every single type, shadow and nuance pointing directly to the Lord Jesus Christ!  He is the Word Incarnate, by Whom all things were created and are upheld.  While seasoned students of the Word can look into the Book of Exodus and see Jesus in every part of the Tabernacle or look into Leviticus and see Jesus as the Great High Priest (and Ultimate Sacrifice for all mankind) and the Church as His Royal Priesthood, someone who has yet to receive Jesus is not likely to understand such things.  "Pre-Christians" have no idea how to navigate the Word and most don't know where to start reading.  In all likelihood, most people who decide to start at the beginning of the Book will get lost and discouraged somewhere between Genesis and Matthew; while those who decide to dive straight into Revelation find themselves seriously lacking understanding.

Our initial, primary goal is to FIRST introduce them to the Author!  Once they give THE TEACHER His rightful place within their hearts, then they are in a place where they can learn from Him and be discipled through loving church families.

Here at WMP, we quite often receive testimonies from people who were given a Scripture booklet, while seriously contemplating suicide, and received Christ.   If someone is on their way to hang themselves from a tree, overdose, or shoot themselves, they most likely don't have time to read the entire Bible. Scripture booklets are great tools for evangelism, because they contain nothing besides topical Scriptures and point people straight to JESUS and our Father's plan of salvation!

While I cannot overstate how precious the Bible is to me, from Genesis to Revelation, I also understand the importance of our 48 page, topical Scripture booklets which lead people straight to the Source and Personification of true Love, Faith, Hope, Joy, Happiness, and Purpose for their lives!
